Bloomfield College Alumnus Takes on New Challenge with Montclair TV34

Bloomfield College Creative Arts & Technology (CAT) alumnus Frederick Gearhart is Montclair TV34’s newest station manager. Prior to Montclair TV34, Gearhart ’10 worked at Princeton Community Television and WBMA-TV, Bloomfield’s government access station.

Since beginning his new role in December, Gearhart, originally from Glen Ridge, has also had his hand in implementing new programming for the Montclair station. These innovations include an up-to-date bulletin board featuring government and non-profit community events and live streams of the Planning and Town Council meetings.

According to BaristaNet, TV34 will also feature ceremonial events. Gearhart covered the traditional puck dropping at the Montclair Kimberley Academy vs. Montclair High School hockey game, the Mayor’s Wellness Challenge Kick-off event, and the 28th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Scholarship Breakfast.

“My goals for the station are to keep viewers informed about what is going on in their community, while providing informative and entertaining programming,” Gearhart expressed to BaristaNet. “I look forward to serving the residents of Montclair by providing programming that keeps them up to date.”
