Your home away from home should be a great one, and a recent study by Niche.com shows Bloomfield College has one of the best residence halls in New Jersey.

A total of 1,713 public and private, traditional four-year colleges and universities across the United States were evaluated in the study.

The study, which offers both national and state-specific breakdowns, was based on more than 50 statistics and nearly 12 million opinions from 300,000 students.

According to Niche.com, the Best College Dorms ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the quality, safety, and cost of on-campus housing. This grade takes into account key factors such as average cost and student reviews in an attempt to measure overall quality of college housing options.

Student housing crime rates also weighed into the study. Bloomfield College, with a student housing crime rate of 0 per 1,000, recognizes the importance of a safe and secure college environment and has a campus security team on campus 24/7.

To comfortably and safely accommodate students, the College has multiple residence halls and a top-notch Residential Education and Housing staff.

One of the newer residence halls, Franklin Residence Hall, was completed in August 2014. The 80,000-square-foot structure offers students a cutting-edge college living experience, complete with various amenities that make the structure one of the most innovative residence halls in New Jersey. Featuring one, four, and eight-bed suite-style living areas, the four-story building also boasts a rooftop courtyard, game room, fitness center and multipurpose space in addition to a lounge areas overlooking downtown Bloomfield on each floor.

With the opening of an additional residence hall at 23 Park Place in fall 2016, Bloomfield College will house the largest population of on-campus residents in its history.

“The College’s commitment to creating a robust on-campus living and learning community for our students led to a major increase in housing capacity. Since 2003, the number of on-campus resident students doubled,” said Dr. Patrick Lamy, Vice President for Student Affairs. “For the very first time, half of the incoming first-year students will have the opportunity to reside on campus. This is truly an important milestone for the College.”
