Bloomfield College Named a Top 100 Test Center by the College Board

CLEP test center

By Alicia Cook

Bloomfield College has received national recognition from the College Board as it was named a top 100 National Test Center in 2016-2017.

Each year, the College Board recognizes the top test centers across the country who administer the most number of CLEP tests. There are more than 1,800 test centers nationally who administer CLEP exams that are accepted by 2,900 college and universities.

According to the website, CLEP, the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States, helps students earn credit for what they already know by getting qualifying scores on any of 33 examinations. Students who receive a qualifying score can earn from three to 12 credits toward a college degree for each CLEP exam taken, depending on the exam subject and policy of the college or university.

Bloomfield College and non-Bloomfield College students can take all CLEP exams at the Bloomfield College Test Center. The College accepts 16 CLEP exams for credit.

Only five institutions in New Jersey received the outstanding honor.
