Bloomfield College Nursing Alumna Selected for Prestigious Award

MHS Health Wisconsin (MHS Health), a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, presented its 9th Annual Summit Award to Bloomfield College alumna Lillian Oduwole ’07.

The award acknowledges healthcare professionals for providing exemplary care and clinical excellence to MHS Health members throughout Wisconsin.

Odulwole is an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Outreach Community Health Center in Milwaukee. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) from Bloomfield College, she went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN) from Concordia University in 2013.

“Bloomfield College was the foundation of who I am today,” expressed Odulwole. “The College helped shape me into the woman, nurse, wife, and mother I’ve become.”

A single award is presented annually. Odulwole was selected out of a pool of 3,000 doctors and nurses.

"We are pleased to recognize Lillian Oduwole for the ongoing contributions she makes to improve the care, quality, and long-term health outcomes of our members." 

Those who receive the annual Summit Award demonstrate superior performance in areas such as establishing a "patient-centered medical home" for new enrollees by promoting the member-primary-care-physician relationship, providing open access to appointments, follow-up care after emergency room and hospital visits, and routine preventive and well-care services for both adults and children.

“Hard work does pay off,” said Odulwole. “My process in how I treat patients like my own family is not going unnoticed.”

Oduwole received her award on October 7, 2016. This was the first time a nurse practitioner was awarded the honor.
