On Thursday, October 6, the Center for Career Development held its annual Internship Fair. The fair provided Bloomfield College students with the opportunity to network with 20 employers from various industries recruiting for spring and summer part-time jobs and internship positions.

Well-known organizations including the FBI, the United States Army and Navy, Pennsylvania State Police, New Jersey Peace Action, Vitas Healthcare, and Kidville of Montclair, gathered in the Multipurpose Room on campus for several hours in a purposeful effort to meet students. Students were highly encouraged to attend in business attire and were advised to bring resumes.

“The Bloomfield College Internship Fair provided excellent networking opportunities for our students with potential contacts who already work in their desired field,” said Rachel Jackiewicz, Director of the Center for Career Development. “Our students want to succeed and the Internship Fair gave our students the chance to make connections with potential employers, mentors, and peers.”

Approximately 100 Bloomfield College students attended the fair. Along with internship prospects, the day was also designed to help students become familiar with organizations and hone interview skills.

“The fair was a big success for both students and employers,” added Jackiewicz. “Many employers commented on the high quality of our students and they were very pleased with the student turnout.”

The Center for Career Development hosts three fairs each year; the Fall Internship Fair, the Fall Graduate School Fair, and the Spring Career Fair. These events are invaluable to students who are looking for part-time work, internships, or will be graduating and entering graduate school or the job market soon.
