On Wednesday, October 9, Bloomfield College unveiled its new Bloomfield Bears E-Sports Center on campus.

E-sports is a rapidly growing field of competitive video gaming. The College announced earlier this year that it was joining the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The ECAC has 57 schools participating in e-sports this year. Funding for the new program was made possible by the generosity of Bloomfield College Trustee Joanne Marren.

To participate, students must be enrolled full-time at the College and working toward a degree. The addition of an e-sports program is intended to promote a holistic approach to the college experience, while attracting students who possess skills including critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork, which are transferable to success in the classroom and workforce. For those interested in learning more about the College's e-sports program, please visit here.
