Bloomfield College Unveils New E-Sports Center

Bloomfield College Unveils New E-Sports Center
On Wednesday, October 9, Bloomfield College unveiled its new Bloomfield Bears E-Sports Center on campus.

E-sports is a rapidly growing field of competitive video gaming. The College announced earlier this year that it was joining the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The ECAC has 57 schools participating in e-sports this year. Funding for the new program was made possible by the generosity of Bloomfield College Trustee Joanne Marren.

To participate, students must be enrolled full-time at the College and working toward a degree. The addition of an e-sports program is intended to promote a holistic approach to the college experience, while attracting students who possess skills including critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork, which are transferable to success in the classroom and workforce.
