2012 Honorary Degree Recipients Announced

Four distinguished individuals will be receiving honorary doctor of laws degrees at the May Commencement ceremonies of Bloomfield College.

Among these individuals, one degree will be conferred posthumously to S. Jervis Brinton, a long time friend and ardent supporter of Bloomfield College who served on the college’s board of trustees for many years. Mr. Brinton passed away late last year. The degree will be accepted on his behalf by his wife, Antionia Marotta Brinton. Read his bio here.

Bill Strickland is the president and CEO of Manchester Bidwell Corporation and its subsidiaries. He founded this venture which has evolved into a national model for education, culture and hope. Read his bio here.

Jeh Charles Johnson is the general counsel of the Department of Defense where he serves as the chief legal officer of the Department of Defense and the legal adviser to the Secretary of Defense. Read his bio here.

Mary Jo Codey is a champion of both mental health and breast cancer issues. On the forefront of postpartum depression awareness and breast cancer detection and treatment, Ms. Codey has brought public attention to these private issues and has helped countless numbers of people with her candor and knowledge. The commencement exercises are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on the Quad of Bloomfield College on Thursday, May 24, 2012.
