The Bloomfield College Alumni Association honored a pair of influential members of the institution's community on April 11, as the organization hosted the annual Spring Gala at Galloping Hill Country Club.

"The Spring Gala is always a wonderful evening, and I am pleased we have had another successful event this year." BCAA president John Delucca ’66 said. “This year I was humbled to receive an award; I have been fortunate enough to be able to give back to this institution that has done so much for me, and am proud to call myself an alumnus.

“An event like this is what the Alumni Association is all about, and we are so thankful to all the people who have made it such an overwhelming success."

College Trustee James R. Gillen was honored with the Trustee Service Award, the first of two honors bestowed on some of the institutional community’s finest members. Delucca himself received the Alumni Hall of Honor Award for his tremendous dedication to the institution as both a Trustee and as President of the College's Alumni Association.

“Bloomfield is very attentive to its students’ needs; the constant outreach to the students is an impressive activity and contributes to the College’s outstanding results,” Gillen said during his remarks. “I am honored to accept this award, and to continue to serve the institution and support its mission.”

Nearly 175 guests attended the inspirational evening, with all net proceeds from the festivities benefitting the Bloomfield College Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

"The Spring Gala is always one of the College's signature events, because it gives us the opportunity to highlight individuals that are championing our mission while raising money for scholarship support,” said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Jackie Bartley. “Our award recipients this year are each a testament to what is possible at Bloomfield College; the institution is a better place because of their service and dedication. Tonight is a reminder that we all have the ability to make an impact, simply by supporting a great evening like this."
