Education Honor Society Teams Up with School District

During the spring of 2013, five Division of Education Honors students: Regina Cora, Trudy Ann Davey, Cecilia Olivera, Nicole Paparella and Shama Perveen participated in a tutoring and mentoring project at the Fairview Elementary School in Bloomfield.  Honors students worked in classrooms alongside the following experienced mentor teachers: Abby DeNicolas, Lauren Marek, Lisa Maron, Joanne Roshong, and Melissa Reinertsen to assist students in a variety of learning activities.

Kappa Delta Pi Co-counselors, Professors Kunz and OReilly, planned this initiative with Principal Sal DeSimone, who is also an adjunct at the College, and the officers of Kappa Delta Pi.  Data collected from this project will inform future practicum experiences.
